...24th of July...

We have a tradition of going to Lava and floating the river on the 24th of July. My grandpa Walkers birthday is on the 22nd so we always celebrate his birthday by going to Lava. This is one of the funnier weekends at Lava, because most of the family comes up and floats the river and then camps for a few nights at my grandparents cabin. We had a great weekend full of adventure, eating, laughing, and relaxing.

I think my family probably gets tired of me snapping pictures. I was trying to get my dad to smile normal for a picture. He always has such a excited expression on his face. This is a picture of Jason giving him a few pointers.
Jason and Ty are always busy creating new versions of games. There is never a dull moment with these two.
On Saturday we headed down into Lava town for a day of floating the river. I was a little nervous to float it this year thanks to one of my friends experience seeing a snake in the water, but luckily we didn't see any. The rapids were a lot bigger this year thanks to the unusual amounts of rain we got in June. You can't tell by the looks of it in this picture, but there were several places that the rapids were big enough to flip a tube.

We always have it good when we float the river. Most people have to carry their tubes back up to the top to float again, but not us. My dad is nice enough to taxi us back and forth all day. I think that would take the fun out of it if we had to carry that big tube back up to the top.

Baby Annie enjoyed her first trip to Lava. She had plenty of people to give her love and attention.

Jason was worn out and needed a little nap. He does all of the work when we float the river. I just sit on the tube and he takes care of me. He makes sure we don't hit any big rocks and he always pulls us back over to the side so we can get off.

That night after we got back to the cabin my uncle had brought his projector so we watched the Great Outdoors on the side of his wall tent. My cute grandma made sure we all had our own box of crunch and munch to enjoy during the movie.

Thanks for a fun weekend grandma & grandpa. They always work so hard getting everything ready for the family. I love spending time up at their cabin and I appreciate everything they do for our family!

5 years down...Eternity to go Today Jason and I celebrate our 5 year anniversary. As a I look back over the past five years it amazes me all of the things that have changed in our life's. From careers, to our homes and our plan for a family, but one thing that hasn't changed is my love for Jason. He is a wonderful husband and works so hard to provide for me. He is always the life of the party and his sense of humor keeps me laughing. He his patient and loving towards me. I'm very grateful to be married to my best friend! I love you babe!!

Home Away from Home...

For the past week Park City has been our home away from home. It was a great week of fun and relaxation. We started the week off by Jason and I enjoying some time together from Sunday through Tuesday. I had to come back for enrichment night on Tuesday, so we let Jason's parents go up for a couple of nights. On Thursday I headed back up with my family (we missed having my dad with, but he had to work on the weekend.) Here is a recap of some of the things we did during the week. Had sweet dreams in this very comfortable bed.

Enjoyed soaking in this jet tub!

Got sunburned laying out by this.

Spent plenty of money here.

Enjoyed some good laughs with the family.

Broke the rules by letting Ty go swimming here.
(It's an adult pool only, good thing no one was there)

Had some serious ping pong games.

Visited the Olympic Park.

Watched the Flyin' Ace Show- Amazing!!

Enjoyed a free concert.

And enjoyed hanging out with my best friend.
(Sorry the picture is scary, it is so hard taking a picture of yourself.)

One last picture I had to through in. I thought it was funny this time Dora got inside of the suit case instead of just sitting by it. She just doesn't want to be left behind.

4th of July = Food, Family, & Fun

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. I love that it includes all of the fun that other holidays have, but it doesn't come with all of the stress and worries. This year we decided to kick off our holiday weekend by going to Raging Waters on the 3rd. I think we will make it a tradition from here on out. It was a lot of fun. We took my brother and one of his friends with us, but I think we will extend the invite to more family next year.
The boys enjoying the wave pool.
Taking a break in the shade for some lunch.

Ty and his friend Tucker racing down the slide.

This was a fun slide, because you just glided across the water on the little sled.

Jason being daring. He caught some pretty good air on this slide.

Doing tricks on the rope swing.

On Saturday the 4th Jason and I just spent the morning getting ready for our annual 4th of July party. We live only 4 blocks from the park that the fireworks are set off at, so we have started a tradition of having a cook out in our backyard and then walking up to the fireworks. It works great!!

I guess great minds think a like. My mom, sister, and myself all had the same variation of clothes on that night. Blue shorts, white shirts with something red underneath. HaHa.

Taking some family pictures. My mom and dad

Todd, Megan, and baby Annie (which I can't get enough of)

Kami and Joe (Glad they were able to come and stay most of the night.)

I didn't get a descent picture of Ty, so I guess this will have to do.

The host and Hostess of the party.

This picture is sort of dark, but it is Jason parents and grandma. Jason's cousin Mindy and her family came as well. It was fun having them there, and their kids kept us entertained with all the stuff they know.

Kami and Ellie catching bugs.

The boys playing a never ending game of badminton.

I love the Brigham's fireworks. I think they are some of the best I have seen. You can lay on a blanket right under them, they are fast with out breaks in between, and they are so loud because of the mountains being so close.
We had a wonderful holiday and feel so blessed to live in such a great country and to be able to share and create memories with family and friends.
