March's Little Things

Wow, I can't believe that March is already over.
Typically March is my least favorite month of the year.
The weather is usually too cold to get outside and we usually don't have many things to look forward to.
This year the weather was beautiful, which made the month so much more enjoyable.

After waiting for more than 2 years, Kyler was finally able to go on a motorcycle ride with uncle Ty.

Wednesday's are busy for our little family and Khloe spends a lot of time in her carseat while I chase Kyler around and do errands. She enjoys getting a cookie while grocery shopping.

We weren't able to celebrate on Khloe's actual birthday, but that didn't stop us from enjoying a little cake and singing to her. She loves doggies so I thought this was the perfect little cake for her.

The majority of our Friday's during the month of March were spent on the ski slopes.
My cute mom even gave it a try and was apart of the fun.

Nothing better than cousins and playing at grandma's house.
I love that my kids will be able to grow up with cousins being their best friends.

Khloe's hair is getting so long so I decided it was time to try putting it in a piggy tail.
I can't believe how much older it makes her look:(

One Saturday while doing some errands in Ogden we bribed Kyler that if he would be good while we did our errands that we would go to the museum at Hill Air Force Base.

With both Jason and I serving in the youth organizations at church we usually have to take our kids with us to mutual on Wednesday nights. Kyler LOVES hanging out with the boys.
He gets to do some pretty fun activities with them.

One of my favorite things about warmer weather is being able to host family get together.
I'm not sure who has more fun the kids or us adults.
I know I have said it a million times, but I really feel blessed to live so close to both sides of our families.

We are loving our Christmas gift and have put it to good use during the past month.

March was a good month!!!

Weekend Words

What a perfect Spring Weekend!!!
Of course the boys had to kick the weekend off with hitting the slopes on Friday. I think we are all going to miss this weekly routine. Kyler and Jason get to enjoy one on one time doing something that they both LOVE, while I get to spend one-on-one time with Khloe usually running errands.

Friday's date night was spent at the temple doing sealings.
One of my yearly goals is to attend the temple monthly.
We are so blessed to live only 5 minutes away, but still each month it seems like we are squeezing our visit on the last weekend of the month:(( It's always has such a calming effect and makes life happier.

Soccer season is in full swing and we are pretty excited to watch
Kyler. Khloe was as content as ever sitting and watching brother run around.

With the beautiful weather on Saturday and it being opening day at Lagoon we couldn't pass it by.
(we got season passes for Christmas gifts again this year and can't wait to put them to good use:))

Sunday we celebrated a week early and had a family picnic and Easter egg hunt at my grandparent's house.

Poor Kyler had his first crash of the season on his bike:((

Kitchen Makeover

We have lived in our current home for 8 years
and for all of those years I have hated the way the kitchen looked.

The color choices were not something I would have chosen and
the half wall that divided the kitchen and
entry really dated the home.

Since the kitchen is the heart of the home and tends to be where the most time is spent I thought it was time for a little make-over.

Before:

We started the LONG process back in January.
Jason framed in the half way and built me a bench for an
eat in nook.

We went from a small round table that sat 4 people to a rectangle table and bench that will easily seat 6-8.

After:

Next came the big job of painting the kitchen cabinets.
I spent every early morning (before kids woke up) and nap time for a month out in the garage sanding, priming, and painting.
They aren't professional by any means, but they look so much
better than they did.

I couldn't wait to get rid of the dated forest green counter tops.
We hired Lowe's to install new counter tops and Jason did a wonderful job on the subway tile back splash.

We had a new sink and faucet installed, put new handles on, finished the project up by painting the walls gray and decorating.

After 3 long months of living in a mess, spending countless hours working, and a lot of money spent, I'm so glad to finally be done!!!

Kindergarten Readiness

In just a few short months Kyler will be
heading off to Kindergarten.

I'm not sure if I'm emotionally ready for this new chapter in our life, but we have been busy during the month of March and have
checked off all of the requirements.

We attended a fun meet & greet at his school.
We walked around the school and met
the Kindergarten teachers.

He wasn't too excited about getting his Kindergarten shots, but
he quickly cheered up when I took him to pick out some cool
Star Wars books.

He did awesome at Kindergarten Round-up.
He scored 100%
(numbers, letters, colors, shapes, positional words, rhyming, print awareness)
However, he does have some work to do with his speech.
(He needs to remember to keep the snake in the cage.)

We are going to enjoy the next 5 months of this chapter in life before staring a new one this Fall.
