October's Little Things

I think October has become my favorite month of the year.

The weather is perfect, the fall leaves are gorgeous, their 

are so many fun activities to do with the family, and it's

the kick off to the holidays:))  

During the month of October 

Kyler has been counting down the days until his uncle Ty gets home from his 

mission. November 5th can't come soon enough for this little guy. 

Kyler and Jason enjoyed picked and making grape juice from the grapes in our backyard.

Nothing says fall like the smell of sweet grapes and grape juice. 

During the month of October we learned about Fire Safety.

Kyler loved going on a field trip to the fire station. 

Kyler's preschool class also went on a fun field trip to the pumpkin patch.

He was pretty excited to find the biggest pumpkin. 

We put our Lagoon season passes to good use. 

We hit up Frightmares a couple of times. 

All Summer long Kyler begged to play the games at Lagoon. 

We had told him that we would wait until the last time we went to play the games.

He was pretty excited to with the prizes that he won.

Kyler did a great job on the primary program.

His part this year was,"I lived in Heaven with Heavenly Father before I came to earth to live with my mom, dad, and baby sister."

Finalization

On Monday, October 20th our family had a big

event take place in our lives. 

We were able to take Khloe to court and have her adoption finalized.

Going to court is a bit intimidating even when it's for a happy occasion such as this.

Kyler was pretty excited/fascinated by it all.

He thought it was cool that we had to go through metal detectors and that police officers

were sitting there with guns. 

The judge was so cute with him and even let him sit in his chair and tap the gavel. 

Khloe wasn't too impressed  with the whole situation

 and wasn't too sure about the strange man holding her:) 

Autumn Leaves

The weather this month has been 

AMAZING!!!

What better way to capture/soak it up than letting the kids play 

in the leaves while I play around with my camera. 

Win-Win for all of us:) 

Black Island Farms

Every Fall I think it sounds fun to check out

Black Island Farms Harvest Festival.

I always end up talking myself out of it because it

is kind of pricey and it's kind of out of the way to get to. 

Last Monday night as a celebration 

(we finalized Khloe's adoption in court earlier in the day. More on that later.)

of being an official family of 4 we decided to check it out. 

I must say it was the perfect way to celebrate and worth the money.

 We went right when they opened before the crowds arrived and pretty much had the place to ourselves. 

Kyler's favorite by far were the giant slides. 

Other things that we enjoyed included: tractor/wagon rides, cannon blaster, pig races, corn maze, and we ended the night watching 

a magic show.
