BEAR LAKE

This past weekend we headed up to Bear Lake for a little camping. We had high hopes of getting a spot to camp at the Sunrise campground and even left Thursday night trying to beat the weekend crowds. After a lot of driving around and worried thoughts that we might have to turn around and come home, we finally were able to set up camp at Camper World. By the looks of the car I would have been extremely disappointed if all of my work packing would have been for nothing.

On Friday  we spent the day down on the property that Jason spent many summer days as a child playing on. Kyler was in Heaven exploring and I think Jason was just as happy being able to relive some of his childhood memories. They practice skipping rocks, catching little fish, and swimming.

Later that afternoon we went for a ride in Logan canyon while Kyler took his afternoon nap. We stopped by a fun hiking trail in Logan Canyon and took in the beautiful wild flowers and mountains. Along the way we even come across some snow.

That night my sister, her husband and my little brother came up. We enjoy sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows and talking.

Kyler still takes a bottle at nights to go to sleep and he is use to warm milk. So we got creative and warmed his milk up in a Dt. Coke can over the fire. It worked great. Hopefully it was save to still drink.

I had to take a picture of the family that was camping next to us. If you rewind 20 years ago it totally would resemble our family. Dad with his nice shiny truck, our ghetto trailer, Todd riding around on his bike teasing me, and me dressed in a matching knit set.

Kyler learning from the pro some baseball skills.

Saturday we met my parents and cousin Annie at the Lake for another day of fun in the sun. Kami and Joe brought up a wave runner and some Kayaks so we spent the day out on the water.

Kyler and Annie enjoying a picnic. Kyler especially loved the vegetable dip.

We ended the day by eating at the famous LaBeau's along with the other hundreds of people in Bear Lake and took a walk along the beach.

We finished our vacation by taking  a bike ride on Sunday morning on the 6 man bike. My brother Ty had us laughing so hard that we were crying.

First 1/2 of July...

I can't believe that July is already half over. It always seems to fly by. As I was looking through the pictures on my camera I realized I have taken a lot of pictures that I haven't documented yet. I have decided to try and post more of the day to day things that we do in hopes of being able to print out a blog book at the end of the year. I'm a bit overwhelmed with scrapbooking right now, but I don't want to just let my pictures sit in folders on the computer. So get ready for a picture overload and sorry if it's boring, but I want to remember the little thing that happen in our life. One night we were out visiting my parents and Kimberly was watering the flowers when she found a nice surprise hiding in the bushes. The boy scout in Jason kicked in and he came to the rescue. He picked up this huge blow snake and escorted it out of my parents yard.

During the month of July we have had a lot of thunder/wind storms. On Sunday night we came home to this nice mess. Two huge branches had snapped and fell into the creek. Luckily they missed our little black rod iron fence and didn't cause too much damage. Just took a lot of work to clear and clean it up.

On July 12th, we were able to watch them put the Angel Moroni on the temple. After waiting in the rain for over an hour they delayed it because of the wind. We walked down to Jason's office and had lunch and waited around for the winds to die down.

Around 2:30 we heard a horn blowing and hurried back down to the temple just in time to see the angel being lifted up onto the spire. It has been so fun to see the progress that the temple has made and we feel so blessed to have a beautiful temple in our little city.

After keeping our ducks for the past few months I decided it was probably time to move them to a bigger and better home. My brother lives in the country and has a few ponds surrounding his home. So we loaded the ducks up, said our goodbyes, and introduced them to a pond.
I don't know who has missed them more, me or Kyler.

The rest of the pictures show some of the things that Kyler LOVES and how we spend most of our days. He is such a boy and loves to be outside ALL OF THE TIME!!

A couple of weekends ago my dad was moving his herd of cows to the summer pasture in Logan. So we tagged along so Kyler could ride in the semi, play with cousin Annie, ride the horses, and be outside.

He threw a tantrum for the first part of the ride, because he wanted to help uncle Todd drive and he wasn't able to play around with all of the buttons on the dash.

Kyler and Annie had fun running around and watching the cows be loaded onto the trailer.

Kyler and I were able to visit grandpa at work during his lunch break one afternoon and see the loader. He LOVES all types of machinery, and was in heaven watching the big tractor load dirt.

Grandpa even had the idea to have grandma make Kyler a matching little vest. Kyler was so proud to be just like his "pa"

So that is how my days are spent. I guess having a little boy changes your mind set of what fun is. I love spending time with my little buddy even though these are things that I wouldn't typically consider being fun. I love seeing him so happy!

Updated Family Picture...

Every year during the middle of June the poppies are in full bloom in Mantua. Jason and I had some of our engagements taken their 7 years ago and I loved them, so I thought it was time to go back and take a family picture.
They turned out okay, considering I just used a timer and a tripod. Kyler is so good to look at the camera, but we need to work on getting him to smile. It's always nice to have the family picture done for the year.
