His Weekend...Her Weekend

Jason's Weekend went
a little like this:

Touring China Town

Eating Sushi

Sight seeing along the coast.

And exploring the amazing
Redwood Forest.

Kaylee's Weekend went
a little like this:

Pulling Kyler up the hill nonstop so he could sled back down.

Sat in the truck and fed these two donuts
while the guys moved the cows.

Took pictures of Kyler and Annie riding the horse.

Hung out with "Pa"
He is always a life saver when Jason is gone. Kyler loves being with him and on a daily basis asks me "Should we go see Pa?"

We fed our ducks... Casey & Daisy.

Helped Kyler climb in and out of the new ball
that grandma gave him.

Sat and watched Kyler play basketball nonstop.

And the highlight was taking Kyler to
 McDonald's for the 1st time.
I'm not a huge fan of public play places. Too many germs.

January Boredom...

January always seems to be such a
Long & Boring
month with not many activities or fun things happening.

After being stuck in the house all week Kyler and I are dying to get out and do something
different and fun on the weekends.

For the  past 2 Saturdays we have spend our mornings hanging out at the
Treehouse Museum

This past Saturday we were lucky enough to have cousin Annie join us for some fun.

Kyler is so funny.
Every time we go to the Treehouse his favorite thing is to stand and watch this
Rodeo Announcer talk. Out of all the fun toys and activities this is where he always ends up.

We spent one Saturday morning in Ogden at the pond
Feeding the Ducks & Geese.

These geese can be a bit intimidating and obnoxious.
They are bigger than Kyler and make a lot of noise.

Kyler enjoys feeding something a little more his size.

And luckily this January has been warmer than usual and we have been able to
Play Outside.

Only 1 more weekend left in January and 1 month closer
to spring/summer.
YEA!!!!

Disappointment...

I was once told that we were lucky.
That adoption was the easy way to have a family.
Well I can guarantee you there is nothing easy about it.

It isn't easy leaving the fate of your family in someone else's hands.

It isn't easy having zero control if you have 1 child or 5.

It isn't easy knowing that you will never have a child that has your eyes or your husbands nose.

And

It especially isn't easy waking up one day thinking it will be like every other, then meeting a birthmom and being chosen. Working nonstop to prepare for the arrival of a sweet baby boy in less than 5 days just to find out that she has changed her mind!!!
I've never experienced it and I'm sure pregnancy can be tough. But I would take all the GOOD and bad that comes with it a hundred times over than what we have experienced this week.

Today at 11:00 we were suppose to sign papers and add another member to our family,
but it looks like I won't be snuggling and kissing the cheeks of another
sweet baby boy.

Instead I get to return all of the cute newborn outfits that I just couldn't resist buying.

I get to box up all of the clothes that I spent the past 3 days washing and getting ready.

I get to rearrange closets AGAIN and put all of this stuff away.

I get to return over $200.00 dollars worth of formula (hopefully), diapers, wipes and baby products.

And I get to dream and pray for the day when we will be blessed to bring home another sweet spirit into our home.

Until then, we will enjoy and cherish each day as
a family of 3!!!

Looking Forward to 2012...

2012 is sure to be a good year!
It seems like our family has many things to look forward to.

Kami and Joe are expecting their first baby in June.

Kyler and Annie can't wait to have another cousin to play with.

My brother Ty will hopefully get his
mission call sometime this Fall.
(This is something I'm not looking forward to. We will miss him so much, but know it's the right thing for him to do.)

Practicing my Photography Skills.
I got a new computer for Christmas that finally has photoshop (thanks casey) and a new lens for my birthday. I'm looking forward to developing this new hobby.

I'm super excited for the Temple to open sometime this year.

But I think the thing that will be the highlight of our
2012, will be...

welcoming a new baby brother to our family.
