I'm not one to wish my life away, but I'm always happy to see January come to an end:)!!!
We started the month celebrating my birthday with dinner at Maddox. It just so happened that it fell on a Tuesday, which is Kids Eat Free night so we took the kids along.
Kyler was pretty excited that he was able to order a steak.
Winter nights can be really long!!!
We tried to make them less boring by playing games

together as a family.
We were able to attend Kyler's Great to Be 8 Preview.
I can't believe that he will be old enough to be baptized this Fall.
January always seems to be a good month for home projects and since we just moved I have a list a mile long of things that I want to do to our new place. During the month I painted two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a preschool room. My goal for February is to put the finishing touches on them and then I'll post pictures of the completed projects!!!
After a year of not being able to ski, Kyler was finally able to hit the slopes again. He was extra cautious and his legs got tired pretty quick, but he was happy to be back at it.
January ended up being an extremely snowy month!!!
It seems like it pretty much snowed nonstop for the entire month.

Because of all the snow Kyler had 2 "Snow Days" from school and 2 late starts.
Speaking of school, we were able to attend Kyler's Celebration of Learning. We enjoyed checking out all of his projects and watching a short program.

Nothing beats a long winter's nap:)
If you haven't noticed yet in the pictures, Khloe pretty much lived in her Elsa dress. Best Christmas present ever!!!
Winter months and owning a puppy do not go well together.
Since the month of January was extra cold, Lucy spent a lot of time either in the garage or in her kennel. She was getting pretty stinky so we attempted to give her a bath. She actually did pretty well, the only complaint would be the wet dog smell that lingered in my basement for a few hours.
We didn't see the sun much during the month, but you can guarantee we took advantage of it every time it came out.
Not having a fenced in yard as made owning a dog a lot more work. Every day for an hour or so I would sit out on the patio and keep an eye on her while she roamed the yard. I'm sure my neighbors wonder about me and why I'm sitting outside in freezing cold temperatures. I helped to pass the time by either studying/preparing for my new calling or practicing my photography skills. Spring and getting a fenced in yard can't come soon enough!!!
Jason knew I needed a little pick me up and came home from work with these "cheery" flowers one day.
Goodbye January, I'm happy to see you go!!!
