Elder Walker Update...

So my little brother has been on his mission now
for 4 1/2 months. At times it feels like
it has been FOREVER since he left.
I'm hoping now that the loooong cold Winter is over that time will start to pick up and
before we know it will be one year then two:) I'm sure he is beyond ready to have one Winter behind him. Just this past week they received a foot of snow!!!

Since he has been gone we have only received SIX pictures, and 2 of those were from the MTC.
It has been hard to see on facebook and blogs other missionaries who have sent endless pictures to
their families, but I guess Ty has been too busy focusing on the work.

Speaking of the work, he was made the senior companion after only being in the field for a short
2 1/2 months. He was overwhelmed and humbled by his new position.
He must have learned what he needed to during the month of being the senior companion because today in his email he was excited to tell us that he was just made the District Leader for his area.

He sounds happy and seems to be enjoying his time in Vermont.
He has been with 2 different companions so far and has had many teaching opportunities.

Back here at home we look forward to Monday's so we can read his weekly email.
Kyler prays for Elder Walker every night.
His little prayers are so cute!!!
Some of my favorites so far:
"Bless Ty that he will have enough money to buy a new motorcycle when he comes home."
"Bless Ty that he won't slip on ice and break his head off."
"Bless Ty that he will come home soon."

Speaking of motorcycles, this is how Kyler sleeps every night.
He can't go to bed without his toy motorcycle that Ty gave him for his birthday.
I hope Kyler will continue to look up to and want to be just like Ty when he gets home.
I couldn't ask for a better role model for him to follow!!!

Ninety-Six Chances...

This month marks 8 Years
or 96 months that we could have gotten pregnant.
After all doctors have never found a reason or said that we can't get pregnant, but
for some unknown reason it has never worked:(
So once again we are asking for your help!!!
I have update our adoption blog and profile and would love to
have it shared as much as possible.

Just in the past few weeks:
* We've had a potential birth mom emailing us back and forth and really likes us, but
doesn't know if she will place or not.

*One of my preschool parents asked how we felt about twins because she knows
of a girl who is considering adoption.

*My sister knows of another girl who is expecting a little girl and is thinking of placing her.

*And to top that off last month I was 2 weeks late and thought for just a second that it might
have happened, but after a test that came up NEGATIVE I was reminded not to waste money
or get my hopes too high.

So with that being said we know that there is a baby waiting to
come to us and we just need as many helpers spreading the word and letting us know of potential situations.

Feel free to share our links to our adoption blog and our LDS Profile.
(both were recently updated.)

NYC

Last week Jason visited
New York City.

His brother Jake had work training there and so he offered any one that wanted to come
and spent time in the city a FREE place to stay.
Since Jason has tried several times to visit NY and it always has fallen
through, he jumped at the chance this time.
Since Jake was in trainings most of the day, Jason was left to sight see by himself.
I would have been a nervous wreck riding the subway and walking around alone.
Jason had a great time checking out some of the must see New York sites.

Time Square

Central Park

Statue of Liberty

Ground Zero Memorial

Subway system

And no New York trip would be complete without eating some amazing food,
especially from street vendors.

Glimpses of Spring...

The past couple of days we've seen
blue sunny sky's, warmer temperatures,
a few rain showers, and
 snow melting uncovering the grass.

Here are a few ways that we know SPRING is
just around the corner.

We've been able to get outside and play in the dirt.

We traded in stocking hats for baseball caps.

We broke out the grill.

We took a nap while enjoying the warm sunshine.

We went out to eat at our favorite drive-in.

We've gotten a few bruises and scrapes from the sidewalks while playing.

I don't know about you, but I can't wait to officially
welcome Spring in a couple of weeks!!!!
