Easter Traditions

Easter seems to be a holiday that is full of simple traditions.
Here are a few of our families favorites.

Dying Easter Eggs

What would Easter be without dying eggs?
This is one of Kyler's favorite things to do since he can put his creative mind to work. Khloe really enjoyed it as well, although dying eggs with a 2 year old is exciting!!!

Easter Egg Hunts

This year was a little different since Kyler was in a wheelchair, but he still managed to have fun and collect some eggs.

Khloe wasn't sure what to think about it at first, but by the time she had done 3 hunts she had gotten the hang of it:))

Easter Bunny

The kids were excited to see what the Easter bunny had left for them. We tried to keep it simple and just give them things that they needed or that they will use on our upcoming trip.

New Church Clothes

Probably my favorite Easter tradition is dressing the kids up in new clothes for Easter Sunday.

Rolling our Easter Eggs

This is the tradition that seems to be a little weird, but it is something that I grew up doing as a child and it has continued on.
We go up on the hill and let the kids roll, throw, smash, hit, and pretty much make a mess of their colored eggs.
Khloe thought this was great fun and I'm glad I have a fridge that she isn't able to get in and do with our eggs:))

Party Time

I LOVE entertaining and throwing parties, but every
year as Khloe's birthday rolls around I have a hard time pulling
it all together.
I'm finding themed parties for boys are so much easier to plan.

I'm not a huge princess (Disney) fan, so I went a different route and did an "Once upon a time... princess party" instead.

The cost of throwing a party can quickly add up, so I tried to get creative and did a lot of DIY projects that cost very little.

I would have loved to use fresh flowers, but not a whole lot is available this time of year and the cost would have been a lot more than I wanted to spend. I used tissue paper (less than $5.00) and created center pieces with some .50 cent vases that I picked up at the DI.

We spent the night celebrating with family and boy
 did they spoil Khloe!!!
