Obsession...

Kyler has gone through many obsessions in his short little life.

When he was a 6 months to about 1 1/2 he
was obsessed with balls and anything that he could throw.

Then he discovered his LOVE of tractors and construction equipment.
He would play for hours outside and when he wasn't busy playing outside he would be
inside watching video's on You Tube.

His next big obsession was cowboys and wearing his cowboy hat.
It didn't matter how clean or dirty the hat was or if it was even his size he always found
a hat to wear where ever  we would go.

So his latest and greatest obsession is
BASKETBALL.
It is the first thing he talks about and plays in the morning and the
last thing he does before going to bed. Every Sunday is a battle,
because he knows that the gym has basketball hoops. He
can't understand why we can't play basketball during sacarement meeting.

And of course he must play on a big hoop and insists on being lifted up to make a basket.

I wonder what his next obsession will be?

Valentine's and Growing...

Wow it's been awhile since I have posted anything.
Not much as happened during the month of February.

Kyler and I spent our Valentine's Day being sick.
I can't complain too much because we have been pretty healthy this winter,
but it was kind of a bummer that we had to be sick on Valentine's Day
and wasn't able to really celebrate.

Other things that have been happening over the past few weeks.

Kyler is changing, growing , and learning so much.
He is obsessed with balls (especially basketball) and plays nonstop with them during the day.

The other day when we were out at my mom's this is how I found Kyler.
He had been down in uncle Ty's room and decided to be just like him.

So I was hoping that we would be able to wait until summer
to transition Kyler from his crib to a bed.
After having him crawl in and out of the crib we thought we
had better make that change a little sooner.

Instead of going straight to a big boy bed we decided to turn his crib into a day bed.
I was really worried that he wouldn't stay in his bed and his sleeping pattern would change.
Luckily he has done really well and still sleep for 12 hours a night and takes a 3 to 4 hour nap!!!

Now if this next issue would only be as easy I would have it made.
Potty Training
is not my favorite part of being a parent. Kyler has always been fascinated with the toilet
and interested with it. Once again I was hoping to put this off until summer when I'm not so busy
with preschool, but Kyler might have a different plan.
At least once a day this is how I find him...

He insists on getting completely undressed.
(something we need to work on)

He also thinks he needs to do everything by himself including wiping.

He continues to amaze me with what he is learning at preschool.
He LOVES his friends and even calls me Teacher instead of mom.

He has learned his ABC's, days of the week, the letters in his name, pledge of allegiance, and is able to count to 10. We are still working on colors and shapes.
