Look Who's Turning 2!!!

WOW!!! Where did those 2 years go. I can't believe that Kyler is already 2. Here are some things that I want to remember about Kyler at the age of 2:

*Loves being outside playing in the dirt, sand, or water.
*Loves tractors, bikes, construction equipment.
*Loves watching you tube videos of tractors.
*Counts to 10.
*Favorite song is I am Like a Star Shining Brightly.
*Speaks in 4-5 word sentences.
*Favorite thing to eat is fruit and mac & cheese.
*Very friendly and says hi to random people in the store.
*Still takes 3 to 4 hour naps each day.
*Loves going to preschool with mom.
*Loves to have books read to him.
It seems like the list could go on and on, but I will stop for now. Below are some of my favorite 2 year old pictures.

Thank goodness for the random chicken that happened to be wandering around the barnyard. It made getting pictures taken a little more fun for Kyler.(and dad)

Family Time...

The last couple of weeks have been so hectic for Jason with working late nights, a surf trip to California, and dealing with family health issues that Kyler and I have been on our own a lot. So instead of sitting home alone we have gone and tried to have some fun even though dad wasn't able to join us. Last weekend we decided to enjoy some of the beautiful weather that we've been having and made one last trip up to Bear Lake for the summer.

A couple of weekends ago my mom was tending cousin Annie so we thought it would be fun to take the 2 kids to the Treehouse Museum. We were very disappointed when we pulled up and the door had a sign that said they were closed for 2 weeks for cleaning and repairs. So Kami and I tried to think of something that we could do on a rainy wet Saturday and ended up taking them to ride the train at the Newgate Mall. After eating Pizza at the Junction we decided to take them on a trolley ride around town.

Peach Days Highlights...

#1 Playing on the construction equipment.

Kyler had a blast playing on all the construction equipment. We had to avoid this area a couple of times, just so we wouldn't have to stand their forever while he checked everything out. Although, it made for a GREAT photoshoot area for Kyler's 2 year old pictures. We went down bright and early Saturday morning before the crowds arrived and got some fun shots for his construction themed party.

#2 ParadeEven though we were small in numbers this year, we still had a good time at the parade. I loved that they didn't throw any candy until the end. It made it so nice not having kids running in front of you the entire time. It was also nice not having to hide the candy from Kyler.

#3 Laughing at this train ride.

So we thought this would be a fun slow going ride for Kyler. I guess we thought wrong. Jason and I couldn't stop laughing as we watched the crazy old man fly through the crowded street with his wagon ride full of terrified children. I'm surprised he didn't roll it as he went around the corners.

#4 Rides at the carnival

Kyler loved driving the trucks and riding the train. He was even lucky enough to ride the train a couple of times for free. Jason speaks Spanish and had conversations with the worker while we were at the fair a few weeks back. He remembered us and every time we would get in line for the train ride he would let Kyler on for free. I guess it pays to know Spanish.

#5 Peach Cobbler

If you ask Jason this would be the #1 reason to attend Peach Days. He waits all year for it.

Back to School...

School is back in session and I survived the first week!!! I love teaching preschool, but i had forgotten how hard and exhausting it can be. This year I have mostly boys in my classes, which makes for a totally different dynamics than last year. Kyler was really excited to see his new friends and he wants to be just like them. In fact we had to go and buy him a backpack after the first day because he felt left out.

This summer we decided to rip out the carpet in part of the room and put down something that could be cleaned a little easier. We found some really fun and bright vinyl tiles that we thought would make for an inviting space. I LOVE how it turned out!!!

Thanks to Jason and my brother Ty for spending one afternoon chipping away at the nasty 70's style tile that was underneath the carpet.
