A Rip Roarin Good Time...

Fair Week has come and gone, and just like usual we spent as much time at it as possible. I think some people wonder what would keep us busy and going back for 4 days straight, so I will show you.

Parade...
We always kick off fair week by attending the parade. Kyler is really into parades right now and loved watching the fire engines, tractors, semi's, bikes, horses, dancers, etc. It doesn't hurt either that he had a constant supply of treats!!!

Trying to keep cool during the hottest week of the entire summer.

Family...

During the fair week we get to spend plenty of time with family and extended family. It is also fun to run into a lot of old friends from high school. My cute grandma in the picture below came and supported all of the grandkids. I'm sure it was bittersweet for her to be there, since she just recently put her husband in the nursing home. He was probably the biggest fan of the fair. It's so hard to see family age and not be themselves. We missed you grandma Max!!!

Kyler enjoying plenty of "pa" time.

Food...

Need I say more, the fair has plenty of yummy food. The best part no cooking for me!!!

Cousin Annie...

These two get sooo excited when they first see each other. Annie LOVES Ky and sometimes gets a little too close for his liking. They had a great time playing with the bubble gun, going on a horse ride, seeing the animals, and riding rides together.

Rodeo...

We always have to attend one night of the rodeo, but this year they had a great speciality act. We ended up going over every night just to watch the bulls and the motorcross. Kyler LOVED watching the bikes!!!

I had to snap a picture of my little brother in between his 4 ladies.

Supporting Family Members...

Growing up me and my siblings were always pretty involved in the fair. From showing a steer to making all sorts of 4-H projects. So this year we tried to support all of the different activities.

Ty showing his steer.

Annie riding Trixy in the horse show.

Megan carrying a flag during the rodeo.

Animals...

What would a fair be without the animals? Kyler was able to overcome his fear of pigs, but decided that he isn't a fan of turkeys. He ended up spending most of his time seeing the bunnies and the goats.

Carnival Rides...

And last but not least the good ol' carnival rides. I always thought I would be one of those practical moms that wouldn't pay $3.00 or more for a 1 minute ride. Or put my child on those nasty, dirty rides, but I guess I was wrong. Kyler LOVED them, especially the trucks and the train. There's nothing better than watching your child have the time of their life at 11:00p.m.

Don't be sad Kyler! The fair will be back next year.

My LiTtLe FaRm BoY!!!

Kyler LOVES everything about the country life and seems to be the happiest when we are outdoors doing something related to it. So last night I took him out to ride with my sister and her boyfriend in the combine. He was pretty fascinated with the "big" "green" "tractor."

I love this picture of my not so little boy.

Just as they were finishing up for the night, the fields right next to us were being sprayed by an airplane. Kyler LOVED watching the noisy airplane fly back and forth right above our heads.

By the looks of all the bites we got, I guess he wasn't spraying mosquito's!!!

Nothing better than a beautiful summer night in the country!!!

Family Time...

This past weekend we attended a family Reunion for Jason's side of the family, which was held at the North Shore Aquatic Center in North Ogden. Kyler had a great time swimming and going down the little toad slide.

Ready
Set

Go!!!
He probably went down this little slide 50 times. I think I need to take him swimming more often. What a great way to wear out some of his energy!!!

He also had a fun time going down the big slide with dad.

Grandpa's Shadow...

Whenever I ask Kyler who he loves his answer is always the same, "Pa". So with that being said we spend a lot of our free time hanging out with him. I love this picture of them all dressed up in their cowboy gear.

Of course Kyler needed a real cowboy hat just like grandpa's and could tell the difference between a real and a fake hat. So one afternoon we made the trip to Smith & Edward's to pick him out a real hat. Except he ended up through a fit when we got there, because he wanted the pink hat instead.

Weekend Getaway...

I'm a bit behind on blogging, but I wanted to include some pictures from the past few weeks. Jason and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary at the end of July and went up to Park City for a couple of days. It was nice to get away for a few days just the two of us. I think my favorite part of getting away alone is going out to eat at a restaurant and actually enjoying it. I almost forgot what it was like to eat while it is still hot and to not have chewed up and spit out food on my plate. Gotta love kids!!!

Enjoying a wonderful breakfast at Kneaders. If you have never gone you need to. The french toast is AMAZING!!!

Eating dinner while attending the outdoor summer concert series at The Canyons.

Round 2...

Jason and I have been working hard on getting approved for our second adoption through LDS Family Services. After several months of endless paper work/ classes/ and interviews, we got the green light to go. It is such an exciting/scary time waiting for our next child. It could happen next month or it could be YEARS. While neither of those two options seem ideal we know that the Lord is watching out for us and that the right child will make it to our home!

We would love for friends and family to spread the word and keep their ears open to possible situations. Most often with LDS family services a placement happens because some one knew of a birthmom that was placing her baby. Feel free to check out our adoption blog at jasonandkayleeadopt.blogspot.com and spread the word. Thanks!!!

(And if it doesn't work out with LDS family services we can go to a private agency and pay $47,500 for a little girl due in December. Can you believe that?)
