Memorial Day Weekend...

Our Memorial Day Weekend was
spent being with our loved ones and
reminiscing about our loved ones who have passed on.
(Pictures aren't of the best quality. I was lazy and used my camera phone all weekend.)

Friday evening we got together for pizza and to remember Grandpa Gary.
The evening was beautiful and the boys had fun helping decorate the grave.

With the weather being so nice all weekend long, we decided to put our Pass of Passes to
good use and hit up Seven Peaks in Salt Lake. We only spent a few hours there, but enjoyed
being together as a little family of 3. I think Kyler is going to LOVE going there often this summer.

Saturday evening my grandparents had the family over for a BBQ.
Kyler was probably most excited for this get together because he knew cousin Taylor would be there with his motorcycle. It was the perfect evening!!! We enjoyed a yummy dutch oven dinner, cousins playing, visiting with family, and we ended the night watching a movie and eating carmel corn.

Monday we went to the yearly Ward/Capener reunion.
Once again the weather was perfect!!!
Kyler had a blast playing with all the cousins.

He is such a little dare devil!!!
He decided he was big enough to ride his little balance bike down the hill.
Good thing he had his helmet on since he ended up crashing a few times.

Kyler continues to amaze Jason and I with how what he knows and what he can do.
So he has been telling us for the past few weeks that he wanted to take his
training wheels off of his motorcycle bike. We kept telling him that he was too young (3 1/2)
to ride it without training wheels. I guess he wanted to prove us wrong.
He decided to get on one of the cousins bikes that didn't have training wheels and off
he went the first try without any problems. We couldn't believe it.
He gets a bit frustrated with turning, but when he is on a straight away he does awesome!!!
He spent at least an hour practicing.
With his determination and smarts I expect big things from him in his future:)

Preschool Graduation

 Another year of Preschool
has come and gone...
Last Thursday we had our graduation. This is probably my least favorite part of
running my own preschool. It is a lot of work, money, and stress!!!
The kids did awesome as usual and we had a great turn out (100+).

Mother's Day Weekend

Mother's Day Weekend is one of my
favorite weekends of the year.
Not because of the attention that is directed
towards me, but because the calendar marks it's finally time
to plant flowers!!!

Mother's Day weekend started on Friday with Kyler hanging out at Grandpa's house, while
I got my hair done. He was in heaven with the surprise that grandpa had in the shed.
He spent hours working on it with tools and trying to get it to run.

Friday evening we met up with the Cook cousins and attempted to take some
pictures that we could give to Grandma Shirley for Mother's Day.

That same evening we went out to a local nursery and picked up my
flower pots and hanging baskets.

Saturday was spent planting and working in the yard.
The weather was even warm enough that we let Kyler swim in
his pool while we worked and planted.

Sunday started with church at 9:00 followed by a BBQ lunch at Shirley's and
ended with dinner and a phone call from Elder Walker.

Day 6...Last Day of Vacation

After 6 days of fun and sun it was time to
leave "Sandy Lego" and head home.

We woke up Tuesday morning packed, played on the beach a little longer, and stopped at
Laguna Beach on the way back to the airport.

I decided to fly home with Kyler instead of driving with Jason.
The Long Beach airport was much more successful than the Salt Lake.
I was super nervous to fly, since I hadn't done it for 9 years, but
I decided over coming my fear of flying was better than driving in a car for 12 hours.

6 Blog Posts, and over 600 pictures,
I finally have summed up our 6 day vacation.
All in all we had a great time and made some fun memories.

Now bring on Summer Vacation...

Day Five...Sea World

With all of the different attractions that California has
to offer we had a hard time deciding which ones
we wanted to include in our vacation.

After taking into consideration Kyler's age, attention spam,
interests, and recommendations of others we decided that
SeaWorld would probably be the most fun.

I had never been to SeaWorld before so it was a fun first for both Kyler and I.
We mapped out our day and made sure that we would be able to see all
of the shows. In between shows we enjoyed riding some rides and
checking out the other exhibits.

Kyler's favorite show was probably the one with seals.
He LOVES the episode of Mickey where they try and train Salty the Seal.
He thought it was pretty cool to see a real seal balance a ball on it's nose.
He also really loved it when they did the Gangnam Style dance.

Kyler wasn't so sure about the sharks swimming over head.

Little boys and water go hand in hand, so
Kyler was always happy when he was playing in the water.

Feeding the sting ray some squid.

Feeding the dolphins ice cubes.

The rides were probably Kyler's favorite part of SeaWorld.
It was so nice not having long lines to wait in and the rides were very age
appropriate for Kyler.

All in all SeaWorld was a success.
If I had to do it again I probably would have planned it towards the first part of our vacation instead of the last day. Kyler had some major melt downs and kind of took some of the
fun out of it, but after 5 long days and no naps he was pretty tired.
