18 Months...

I can't believe it, Kyler is 18 months old. It seems likes he is slowly phasing out of the baby stage and into little boy. And I can't believe a year ago we were so busy getting ready to have his adoption finalized, being sealed in the temple, and blessing him. I can't believe how fast the time passes. He his such a happy little guy and is so full life. Some of his favorites include playing outside. Going and helping grandpa on the farm. Having books read to him. Going for rides in the tractor and on the 4-wheeler. Throwing balls. He loves big trucks, especially the garbage truck. He loves to go and feed the ducks at the pond.
At 18 months he has 4 top teeth and 4 bottom teeth. He loves his Binky and blanket and whenever he is sad or tired he always asks for his "B's" . He is the best sleeper and will sleep

for 12 hours at night and then take a 3/4 hour nap in the afternoons. His favorite thing to eat is

fruit, but won't even touch his vegetables. He loves sour things like pickles, yellow peppers,

sour patch kids, lemons.

At his 18 month check-up the doctor said he was doing great! Most of his measurements

were right in the 50th percentile. He weighed 25.8 lbs. (50%) His height was 32 3/4

inches (70%) and his head was 18 3/4 inches (50 %).

He is very active and always seems to run to wherever he is going. He loves to climb and I'm just praying that we don't end up breaking anything. He is starting to talk a lot more and has about 30-50 word vocabulary.
He is one special little boy and Jason and I love him to pieces.

Duck, Duck, Goose...

Kyler LOVES ducks and so when we decided to stop by a pond and feed them, he was more than excited! Every time we look at books he has to point out the "ucks" so to see them in real life was pretty neat. He loved breaking up pieces of bread and throwing it to them.

He decided he needed a little snack as well. One for the goose one for Kyler.

A Day in the Life of Kyler...

Kyler is one busy little boy right now and keeps me on my toes. I thought it would be fun to show what a typical day looks like for him.

He usually wakes up around 8:30-9:00, eats his breakfast, and looks at some books. He LOVES books.
(He especially loves that farm book. He will sit and look at the tractor page for 5 minutes straight.)

After breakfast we head downstairs for preschool (tues. wed. thurs.) He LOVES to play with all of the kids. And he usually pulls out as many toys as he can, because he knows mom is busy.
He works on his coloring skills.

The rest of the day is spent making as many messes as possible and being one rough, tough, little boy.
He loves to open the heater vents and put all sorts of things down them. I can't tell you how many toy balls have been thrown down them.

He loves tormenting the cat. His favorite is playing in her bed, spilling her water, through the cat food around, and whatever else he thinks looks fun.

He loves water!!! It doesn't matter if it's the bath water, puddles, dripping water from the rain spouts OR
the toilet. It is all the same to this little man.

He recently discovered the one safe hiding spot that the cat has. He now knows that he can fit under the bed to get her.

After he gets bored with the cat he decides to climb on everything and anything.

But eventually he gets worn out and decides to take a 3-4 hour Nap. During this time I'm able to clean up the tornado that has hit my house and recharge for when he wakes up.

There is never a dull moment with this little guy. We love him and don't know what our life would be like without him.
I'm looking forward to warmer days and being able to spend more time outdoors playing. I think that is just what this little boy needs.
