Max C. Ward

Grandpa Max...

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Max C Ward passed away peacefully on August 22, 2012 at the Bear River Valley Care Center in Tremonton, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born on June 21, 1930 in Fielding, Utah to Glen M and Alice Coombs Ward. He was educated in Tremonton and graduated from Bear River High School. He served in the army during the Korean War. He married Donna Rader on March 25, 1953 in the Logan LDS Temple. They were blessed with three daughters. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and had served in many callings and positions in the church. One of the callings he enjoyed most was serving with his wife in the Branch Presidency in the Bear River Valley Care Center for 11 years. Max was a farmer and rancher and was known for his honesty and generosity. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and was happy when they dropped by. He enjoyed his morning chats at the Riverside Corner with friends. He is survived by his wife Donna, and his three daughters Patti (Kelly) Walker, Honeyville; Joni (David) Earl, Beaver Dam; Sherry (Billy) Rhodes, Fielding; 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one sister Barbara (Richard) Capener, Riverside. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services for Max will be held Monday August 27, 2012 at 1:00 pm. There will be a viewing from 6-8 pm on Sunday August 26, 2012 and from 11:30 – 12:30 pm previous to the funeral. All viewings and services will be held at the Belmont 2nd Ward LDS Chapel (16925 N. 5200 W. Riverside, UT). Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery.

Cowboy Boots & Country Roots

When the end of August rolls around
you can guarantee there's one place we will be.

We kick off fair week by attending the parade.
It has been a tradition for as long as I can remember.
Kyler LOVES parades.
It combines all of his favorite things.
(outside, candy, tractors, bands, fire engines, horses.)

Wednesday night after the parade, we took advantage
of $1.00 night at the carnival.
We let Kyler ride as many rides as he could until
they closed at 11:00.

I am way too cheap to pay $3.00 per ride on the other nights.
(It would have cost $12.00 for one ride on the ferris wheel for Jason and Kyler on the other nights. How do people pay/afford that?)

His favorite this year was the ferris wheel.
He had seen Mickey ride it on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse,
so he thought he needed to give it a try.

Of course we spent a lot of time looking at the animals.
What would the fair be without all of the animals?

Kyler spent a lot of time driving the old tractors.

Thursday night we enjoyed family night at the rodeo.

Jason and I were even caught on the jumbo tron kissing.

Kyler enjoyed some cousin time.
He can't wait until Max gets old enough to play with.

We had a great time being together as a family and making traditions. I know some people think we are crazy and couldn't imagine anything worse than spending 4 days straight at the county fair, but I have fond memories from my childhood from the fair.
Although I don't own a pair of cowboy boots, I defiantly come from country roots and I love that!!!

One Year...

This month marks one year since
we were approved again for an adoption.

It hasn't been as hard waiting this time around, but
it's always in the back of our minds.
The thing that makes it the most hard is having no control
over our family.

Will we stay a family of 3?
Will we be blessed with one more, maybe two?
Will Kyler ever have a little brother or sister to
play with/tease/love?
How old will Jason and I be when we finally
 have our family raised?
(that's the one that concerns me the most.)

Although, things haven't gone as I had always
planned/dreamed they would, I know that
there is a plan for everyone and ours just
happens to be a little different.

After all if things had gone the way that I had hoped for,
we wouldn't be parents to Kyler.
I can't imagine our life without him.

So with that being said, we need your help!!!

LDS Family Services really encourages couples
to put themselves out there and let as many
people know that they are hoping to adopt.
Some couples even goes as far as handing out
adoption cards(kind of like a business card)
to make people aware of their situation.)

We would love it if you could help us get the word out and hopefully get Kyler a little brother or sister sooner than later.

Jason's cousin put our adoption profile on her facebook status
for one day and we had over 50 hits to our
profile page or adoption blog.

We need to just get the word out.
Most often an adoption goes through because someone knows someone who is considering adoption.

Feel free to link our adoption blog to your blog or facebook page.

or
itsaboutlove.org  profile Id # 25920519

With over 328 couple just in Utah waiting (800 country wide)
we need to let as many people know as possible.

Thanks for your help!!!
Hopefully a year from now, I'm not blogging
about our second year of waiting.
Instead, I'm blogging about our second child.
Or maybe with 2 kids I won't have much free time to blog:)
That would be okay with me!!!

Lava...

This past weekend we made a quick 24 hour
camping trip up to my grandparents cabin in Lava.

Although we weren't up there for too long, we
made the most of it and packed in as much fun as possible.

We enjoyed a picnic in the park.

                                                      We floated the river.

                                                                  Where did Kyler go?
His little head is in the middle of that splash of water.

                                 Kyler & Annie had fun
                          blowing bubbles with Grandpa.

I enjoyed snapping pictures of the family
enjoying each others company.

We enjoyed eating way too much.

And Kyler even spotted his favorite animal
                                          a bear!!!
