Snow Day

When it looks like this at bedtime….

 

You can only pray that you wake up to a 

SNOW DAY!! 

Both girls were so excited when they found out that school had been canceled.

Kyler enjoyed sleeping the day away, while us girls played outside, baked yummy food, and probably consumed too much screen time. 

Sledding Fun

We FINALLY had our first big snowstorm followed by a day off of school and SUNSHINE!!! 

That could mean only one thing…family sledding day!!

Our group was a little smaller this time, but that didn’t stop us from having fun. I feel like the cousins are at the perfect age where they all play and have fun together. 

My girls keep asking when we can do it again. 

 

Weekend Getaway

Jason and I celebrate our 20th Anniversary this year and have always planned to do a BIG anniversary trip. The reality of our life right now is not what we had envisioned and hoped for!!

The likelihood of us being able to step away from family and responsibilities for a week probably is not very likely, so we’ve decided to do a bunch of mini staycations this year instead!!

We enjoyed an overnight stay up Ogden Canyon and enjoyed an afternoon of snow shoeing. 

    

Weekend Words

 January is off to a great start. I love the slow paced weekdays that usually accompany the month of January and I find myself organizing, dejunking, and just enjoying being HOME!!! 

With that being said, it seems like when the weekend rolls around we are itching to get out of the house and have a change of scenery. Our first weekend of the year was spent celebrating our cousins. 

We enjoyed supporting cousin Mace and his decision to be baptized. We had fun being with family and enjoyed a yummy brunch. 

Later that day we celebrated cousin Emily’s birthday with a fun swimming party.

Sunday morning came bright and early with 9:00 church (probably my least favorite time) and both girls were excited to find out who their new primary teachers were. 

We woke up to a winter wonderland and was happy to see that Winter had finally arrived. 

Birthday

There is something about starting a new year and having a birthday the same week that makes you stop and reflect on your life!! The older I get the more I want to simplify life and only put energy into the things that I love and that matter the most!!

Jason knows how much I hate having a winter birthday and this year he went above and beyond to fill my day with things that I love!!! 

For my gift he bought me a heater for my greenhouse and we enjoyed a yummy Maddox takeout dinner. 

 

HELLO 2024

 I can’t believe I’m getting back into blogging, but truth be told I’ve really missed having a place to store my photos and document our life. Plus, I feel like it’s a better depiction of our life and not so as “picture perfect” as Instagram is!!

We rang in the new year hosting a family party!! Of all the parties we have during the year I think I like this one the most. It just so happens to be the one gathering that we get to have my sister and her husband with us!! It is also the one holiday where games are expected, and I LOVE games!! 

It’s been a few years since we’ve done minute it to win it games and the kids thought they were the best!! 

Looking forward to 2024 and praying it’s a good year for our family!!!
