Fair Week

Fair Week is probably my kids' favorite week of the
SUMMER. They LOVE seeing the animals, playing with cousins, eating fair food, and entering projects.

Wednesday night they were excited to go out and see what ribbons they had gotten. After checking things out we met up with my family for the rodeo.

This year Khloe entered a picture, flowers, and some produce.

Kyler entered a couple of school projects and a picture.

Friday is our favorite day to go out and look at things. It is slightly less busy and the kids are able to run around and have fun with cousins. Olivia LOVED all of the animals, but as always the goats are our favorite.

Friday night Jason and I left the kids home with a babysitter and went out to eat dinner and walk around. It is so much easier and cheaper to go without kids:))

Saturday night we went out for 1 last night of fun. The kids were able to use their premium money from their projects to buy whatever they wanted.
Kyler chose a lasso and the girls got barking puppies.

As we were walking around we ran into Mitt Romney.

I'm not going to lie, it's A LOT of WORK and sometimes not worth it to take 3 kids places like the fair. But the memories they are making, make it WORTH it!!! I LOVE getting to see my kids experience things that I LOVED so much as a child.

2018 Famiy Theme

I have been kind of hit and miss with the whole family theme/back-to-school dinner idea.
I LOVE it, but some years have been crazier than others (new baby, thyroid cancer) but as Kyler gets older and school becomes more challenging I know this is a GREAT family tradition to continue. I LOVE that it gives us a focus as a family and something to work on together.

This years theme is :
"By Small and Simple Things are Great Things Brought to Pass"
I LOVE the talk from last conference from Elder Dallin H. Oaks about the crack in the sidewalk and how it happened gradually over time. It's those small day to day things that we do that will make the biggest impact in our lives.

I also wanted Kyler to know that as he starts 3rd grade (multiplication) that he doesn't have to learn all of his facts at once, but if he works on small chunks at a time, eventually he will have mastered them all.

To go along with our theme of "Small and Simple Things" we had a very SIMPLE dinner.
(B.L.T. one of Kyler's favorites)

First Day of School 2018

Kyler's 1st day of 3rd Grade

He is pretty excited to have Ms. Reeder.
She is a very creative (arts/writing) teacher.

Khloe's 1st day of Smartypants Preschool

We decided that it would be better for Khloe and myself if she went somewhere else for preschool. She can be very stubborn and we figured she would have a hard time doing what teacher(mom) asked of her. Plus this particular school is probably my biggest competition (STRESS), so I figure I might as well see what it is all about:))
