August's Little Things

After pretty much staying at home with Olivia for June and July I figured it was probably time to attempt going out together as a family. We started out small and got out of the house for an hour or so to watch the Tour of Utah that came through Brigham.
It was a super hot day, but the kids had fun watching the bikes, getting free souvenirs and cooling off with a snowcone.

We also enjoyed going up to Snowbasin to watch the Eclipse.
It was such a cool experience and it left us wishing we would have traveled up to Idaho to watch it.

We had an over abundance of produce in our garden so we decided to have a yard sale and let the kids sell some of it.

Kyler started 2nd grade out at Promontory School.

Khloe was pretty lonely after Kyler started school and kept asking if she could go to school. Luckily she has Olivia to hang out with.

August Adventure Days

The last few adventure days in August were some of the BEST.

The kids were happy any day that was spent at Lagoon.
They just so happened to be there the day that I-15 was closed because of the plane crash. It was an adventure trying to get home and it took several hours!!!
They decided to stop off and have dinner at Sizzler while they waited out the crowds.

On another Wednesday, Jason and the kids went and toured the new MTC in Provo.
While they were down that way the made a day of it and stopped by Cabela's and the new park/splash pad in Bluffdale.

I'm not sure who enjoyed Wednesday Adventure Days more, Kyler and Khloe or me. It was so NICE to have a day each week that I could do whatever I wanted. From cleaning the house without it getting dirty only minutes later to running errands with only 1 CHILD, or my favorite snuggling with Olivia and taking naps while holding her. I feel so lucky to have a husband that is willing to take time out of his schedule to spend time with the kids and to give me a break!!!

County Fair

Fair Week has come and gone and just like that Summer is over and we are back in school:((

We didn't spend as much time out at the fair this year as usual, but we did manage to get in all of our favorites.

Both kids enter projects this year and Kyler was pretty excited with all his blue ribbons and $11.00 of premium money.

Friday we enjoyed family night at the rodeo.
It was the perfect night...good food, family, and watching Kyler do the mutton bustin.

Even Olivia was happy to be at the fair.
This is my favorite picture!!!

Khloe is already asking when we can go to the fair again.
Only 51 more weeks!!!

Outside Projects

One of the hardest things about moving was leaving our yard.
It's not to often that you find a creek running through your backyard. However, we were ready for a bigger yard and something that would have room for a garden, greenhouse, dog run, and playground area.

Our current yard is .44 acres with a lot of potential and in need of
A LOT of WORK!!!

So far we have: put in a vinyl fence for privacy, built a dog run, removed all the red rock, bushes, and wagon wheels from the front yard and replaced them with flowerbeds, hauled out countless loads of overgrown bushes, grass, weeds from the garden and replaced with top soil, and layed a brick walk way in the backyard.
We are happy with how things are coming along, but also realized it's going to take YEARS before we have it just the way we want it.
Here are a few pictures of the before and after.
