A Fun First...

This past weekend we headed up to Lava Hot Springs for our yearly camp out/float the river birthday celebration for my grandpa. We always go up over the 24th weekend and it is something I always look forward to doing. I was excited to see how Kyler liked camping and thank goodness he LOVED it. It is so much fun getting to experience these things for the first time as parents and seeing Kyler's reaction to so many new firsts. We didn't end up floating the river this year, but Kyler had a ton of fun playing on the big 4 man tube.

I hope Kyler out grows this phase of always sticking out his tongue before he gets teeth.

Watching all the people floating the river. It is pretty entertaining to stand and watch how many people get flipped out of their tubes as they go over the drop off.

Jason got a new tent for Father's Day and we were able to try it out for the first time. Kyler was such a good boy and slept through the entire night. He must love sleeping in the outdoors.

The best part of camping...Breakfast!!!

It is always so beautiful in the mornings.

Thanks for letting us come camping grandma & grandpa. I can't wait until next time!!!

GORGEOUS

The other night we were out at my parent's house having dinner for my mom's birthday. They have a perfect view of the sunset every night. Since I'm not able to see the sunsets from our house, I decided to get some practice using my new camera. It happened to be a perfect night for taking pictures. The sunset was absolutely gorgeous.

Since it was my mom's birthday and her parents were there for dinner I decided to get of few pictures of them with my mom and also with Kyler.

Four generation picture. My grandma Donna, mom, me, and Kyler

Since Jason was gone to scout camp I couldn't get any pictures of him and I together so I practiced with my sister Kami and her boyfriend Joe.

Lions, and Tigers, and Bears. Oh My...

Last weekend we celebrated my mom's 50th birthday as a family by going to the condo in Park City. We had fun going shopping, swimming, riding the tram, visiting the zoo, and just hanging out as a family. Grandma brought the grandkids a fun boat to ride in and some rubber duckies to play with. Kyler is such a funny kid. He always sticks the duck in his mouth as a Binky. Kyler just hanging out before going swimming. His birthmom, Michelle, gave him the cutest shirt that said, "Don't bother me! I'm on vacation." If he could talk I think that is what he would be saying every time I'm snapping pictures of him.
Kyler was fascinated by the tram. He loved looking over the edge.

Kyler and Annie testing out the new boat.

The whole family at the zoo, except for Kimberly who had to work.

Dad and Kami taking a break in the shade.

Most of the animals were too hot and sleepy to do much of anything. I think Kyler liked the giraffes the best. They were big enough and moving around so he was able to see them.

My favorite animal was the orangutans. I loved the facial expression!!

By far the best part of the day for the little ones was riding the carousel. The expression on Kyler's face doesn't show it, but he loved it. And even cried when he had to get off.

Since his favorite animal at the zoo was the giraffe we decided to ride that one.

Grandma spoiling the grandkids with a toy. Kyler got a giraffe that we named "Jeffy"
Thanks for a fun weekend family. I hope we have many years to come, with fun outings, traditions, and being together as a family.

Independence Day 2010

Wow, get ready for a major picture overload. With the 4th of July falling on a Sunday this year, we were able to play for 3 days straight. Resulting in way too many pictures!!! The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. I love everything about it. The parades, fireworks, BBQ's, decorations, traditions, music, colors, food, etc. This year was even more fun having Kyler be able to be apart of it all. I'm sure the little guy wasn't sure what to think of all of the new things he was experiencing. Some he loved more than others.

We started our weekend by attending the Honeyville celebration on Saturday morning. It was Kyler's first time going to a parade and I think he liked it. I was nervous that the loud sirens would scare him, but he just stared at them trying to figure out what was going on.
All ready to go the the parade.
You can tell by his face that he is concentrating really hard. Wasn't sure what to think of it all.

Waiting for the parade to start.

Dad keeping Kyler entertained while waiting for the parade to start. I love how pretty the sky was. It made for a perfect back drop.

The best part of the parade for Kyler was the Popsicle that Grandma shared with him.
On Sunday we had our annual 4th of July party with our families. I love to host parties and I think this is my favorite one. I love all of the cute decorations and fun foods that can be made. We enjoyed a fun evening of visiting, food, playing badminton, and fireworks.
Kyler is in heaven when we have family parties. He has so many different people who want to hold and play with him.

My cute grandparents are sooo cute with the great grandkids. Kyler is one lucky boy to have 5 great grandparents and all four grandparents still living. He is one spoiled and loved little boy.

Kyler and Annie playing at the picnic table with their flags. I wanted to get a cute picture of them together, but it was hopeless. They were too busy moving around and watching what was going on. This is the best that I could do.

Getting in a good game of badminton.
Ending the night with some sparklers and other fireworks. Kyler was so curious about the sparklers and wanted to touch them.

We spent Monday at Raging Waters. We have a tradition of going there over the 4th of July weekend. Kyler loves to swim, but he wasn't the biggest fan of the water that day. The wind was kind of blowing and the temperature wasn't very hot. Making the water too cold for a little one. We spent most of our time under the shade tree playing and eating treats.
We gave Kyler a piece of licorice for the 1st time and he LOVED it!!! That was his favorite part of the day.

We ended our day by going to the Brigham fireworks. I was surprised that Kyler didn't cry and I think he actually enjoyed them.

We had a wonderful weekend and feel so blessed to have the freedoms that we do and to live in such a wonderful country. God Bless the USA!!!
