November's Little Things

November is probably my least favorite month of the entire year!!!
I have a really hard time with the time change and the fact that we aren't outside as much. To make matters worse, Jason's busy work season begins on November 1st which puts him working LATE every night. It's a good thing that we celebrate Thanksgiving during the month and that I'm reminded of all the things that
I am THANKFUL for!!!

The first weekend in November I was able to attend the Women's Conference that our little community puts on.
The high light for me was the keynote speaker, Matt Townsend.
It was so nice to have a day out without kids:))

Kyler's school holds SLC (student lead conferences) during the month of November. Kyler is doing GREAT and loves his teacher this year.

With the winning season that the Aggies were having we had to go to at least one game.

Date Night is a MUST during the month of November.
One Friday night we went and watch this play at the high school.

We also attended the Mark Wills concert at the fairgrounds.

Kyler finished up 10 weeks of art lessons at the Fine Arts Center.

Most of the month was spent with sick girls, which resulted in staying home and lazy days.

We celebrated Thanksgiving at preschool with a feast.

My favorite time of the day.

Kitchen Remodel

One of the things that I disliked the most about our house when we bought it was the kitchen!!!
The space was nice, but it was really out dated and the cabinets were pretty beat up. I have updated and painted cabinets white before, but we decided since this will more than likely be our forever home that we would save up and do a kitchen remodel.

It was a BIG project with many decisions,
(and some disappointments)
and took about 9 MONTHS from start to finish.

BEFORE
We reconfigured the layout and moved the cooktop to the opposite side, which is so much more practical, and after having our fridge in our dinning room(didn't fit in the hole) for 18 months we were finally able to move it to were it belongs.

AFTER

We had Rasmussen's Custom Cabinetry do our cabinets and overall we are happy with how they turned out. There were a few frustrations that we had to work out along the way and since they are super busy there was a lot of waiting which was kind of frustrating at times.

Probably the biggest disappointment of the entire project was the wood floors. Since we already had nice hard wood floors we decided to have them refinished rather than lay down laminate or vinyl. So we hired a company to sand them down and refinish them a different color, which ended up being almost exactly what we had when we started. I think they look nice, it was just frustrating that we paid so much money to have very little change:((

One of the hardest decisions to make, but one that I'm most happy with is our countertops. I never knew picking out granite would be such a hard decision. We spent hours at the warehouse walking back and forth trying to decide on which slab we liked the most.

When it comes to functionality, I think the two things that I LOVE the most are the farmhouse sink and the gas range.

The Sweetest Mommy

Wherever Olivia goes she is sure to have 1 or 2 babies in her arms. She is the sweetest little mommy!!!
She feeds them, bathes them, sleeps with them, and everything in between.

I hope this is a phase that she NEVER outgrows!!

Thanksgiving 2018

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday (weekend of the year)!!!
I LOVE how it is simple, low stress, and revolves around what is most important in life.

This year we kicked off the celebrating with a family ski day at Snowbasin on Wednesday.
In years past Jason and Kyler have gone up for a few hours on Thanksgiving Day, but this year the resort opened up sooner and the weather made it PERFECT for the entire family to go.

Thanksgiving day was spent with the Cooks this year.
We enjoyed a wonderful meal and just hanging out.
That evening we went out to the Walker's for leftovers and to visit.

Friday morning we did a little "Black Friday" shopping and then attended the Grover Thanksgiving party in the evening.
It's always a GOOD TIME when we get together with this side of the family and this year was know different!!!
It's loud, the kids run wild, and everyone gets along.
(I think that's what makes it so fun)
We played some fun games and then uncle Richard showed all of the kids the legendary mongoose trick.
(If you haven't seen my Instagram video of Olivia it's worth watching it:)

Saturday morning the boys went skiing and hit up the first powder of the year. That afternoon we went and saw the much anticipated Grinch movie and we ended the day with a disappointing loss for the Aggies:((

Now it's back to reality and the beginning of the busiest, most exciting time of the year!!!
