A Taste of Summer...

I know that Spring just started last week,
but this past weekend got me really excited for
Summer!!!

Here is a look at our Summer like weekend:

Having Jason Grill delicious food on the grill.

Going to a local nursery and picking out the plants
that will turn into beautiful flower pots
in a few months.
(Don't worry I know it's way too early to plant. That's the beauty of this nursery, they keep the pots in their green houses until it's warm enough outside.)

Smelling like mosquito repellent
and sunscreen.

Working to complete the first yard improvement of the year.
After 3 years of talking and wanting to put a fire pit in. We finally did it!!!
We put it in on the other side of the creek. We have tried to turn that area into a camping area complete with fire pit, picnic table, and a grassy area for a tent.
If gas prices continue to rise we might be camping in our own backyard this summer instead of going out of town.

A not so warm vacation...

This past weekend we headed south hoping to enjoy some
sunny warm weather. After being cooped up all winter we thought a nice little
getaway to Las Vegas sounded nice. Mother Nature had a different idea and didn't deliver nice
weather, in fact it was just as cold and windy in the south as it was back here at home.

The resort we stayed at was super nice.
The pool area with a sandy beach and lazy river were amazing.
It's just too bad we only got to use them for a couple of hours the first day we were there.
Of course Kyler LOVED it and wanted to keep going back.
It was hard for him to understand that it was too cold outside to go swimming.

The resort was right next to the Las Vegas airport, so Kyler was fascinated with all of the
big airplanes that flew overhead every couple of minutes.

Saturday we decided to venture out and see the sights on the strip.
The weather was super windy and because of St. Patrick's Day it seemed like their were
even more crazy people and partying going on than usual.

The favorite stop of the day for Kyler was watching the fountain show
at the Beliago. He thought they were fireworks going off.

My favorite thing that we saw were all of the beautiful flowers
inside of the Beliago. This seemed like the only hotel/casino that
we went in that was some what clean and wholesome.

Of course with any vacation comes the eating out and yummy food.
One night we took Kyler to the Rain Forrest Cafe for dinner. Although the food
wasn't great and really over priced that atmosphere was fun and entertaining.

But hands down the best food from the vacation were the
 hamburgers at In-n-Out.
Kyler LOVED it so much he ate an entire hamburger all by himself.

Although the weather wasn't the best and we didn't get to enjoy the pools as
much as we would have liked. It was great getting away for a few days and spending
time as a family.

A Spring Like Weekend...

The weather this weekend was
Beautiful!!!

We tried to soak up as much sun as possible and spent a lot of
time outside enjoying many Spring like activities.

On Saturday we went to the Bird Refuge and enjoyed some
 free activities.

We enjoyed going on a few walks.

I enjoyed watching the daffodils open up.
(hopefully the last for a few weeks)

We planted our peas.

And, we spent many hours playing.

In Like a Lion...

March came in like a LION so last weekend
we took advantage of the snow
and went tubing.

Kyler had a blast and giggled all the way down the hill.

Then he enjoyed a nice ride back to the top.
Jason got his work out for the day pulling him back up.

I even enjoyed a few rides down the hill.

I'm looking forward to a much warmer weekend ahead.
Hopefully what they say is true.
In like a lion, out like a lamb!
