Change of Plans...

This past weekend Jason and I had planned to go to St. George for a little get away, but because of several snow storms (especially in Southern Utah) we decided it was best to stay home. I was disappointed, but we tried to make the best of the situation. On Saturday we woke up to blue skies, and a beautiful winter wonderland.

Kyler enjoyed playing outside with us while we shoveled the driveways. He especially liked eating the snow.

We spent part of the day out at Grandma & Grandpa's house. Kyler loves to be pulled around in his sleigh so we took him to the bottom of my parent's lane and back. It was a bit much for Kyler and us. He ended up falling asleep and Jason and I got a great workout.

But as sad as it sounds the highlight (mainly for Kyler) was getting to play and feed the baby calf that was inside grandpa's house. It was born during the middle of the snowstorm and was frozen stiff, so they had to bring it in the house to warm it up.

Although this weekend wasn't as fun as going to St. George, at least I spent it with my 2 favorite boys. Here's to hoping that warmer weather will be here soon and we can go on a real vacation.

Treehouse Museum

I've been wanting to take Kyler to the Treehouse Museum in Ogden, but wasn't sure if he was old enough yet to enjoy it. We decided that we had had enough of staying indoors because of the weather, so we decided to give it a try this past weekend. Kyler proved to us that he was old enough as he ran around to each different area and was totally engaged in the different activities. I think this picture is pretty funny. One child to five adults. They probably wondered about us when we payed to get in. We were hoping that the other 2 grandsons would have joined us, but it ended up only being Kyler.

If you have never been to the museum I would highly recommend it. I'm thinking about getting a yearly pass, so we can go play more often. I don't know if it's the teacher that comes out in me or what, but I would much rather have my child spend time using their imagination and being creative than sitting in the house watching t.v./video games.

Here are Kyler's top 5 favorite things:

#1 Driving the big fire truck.

#2 Visiting the big red barn with the moving sheep and milking the cow.

#3 Drawing pictures on the chalkboard in the school.

#4 Riding the bull and the horse.

#5 Watching the fish swim around.

Even the big kids were able to have some fun.

We had a great time and can't wait to go back. If anyone is interested in going just let us know. We would LOVE to join you.

Aggie Fans

So if you know Jason you know that he loves Aggie Basketball. He tries to go to as many games as I will let him. So when his work had extra tickets last Wednesday he jumped at the chances to take me and Kyler along with him. I'm usually not a fan of a crowded sports arena, but it ended up not being too bad. Kyler was in heaven watching the ball and all of the excitement. We ended up only staying until half time for two reasons. First, after half time when the team was warming up one of the players dunked the ball and ended up shattering the backboard. After they had just finished replacing that one they had over tightened it and it shattered again when they lifted it back up. So after a 50 minute delay we decided to start for home. (Kyler is working on getting a knew tooth, that explains the drool on his chin and the hands in his mouth.)

The second reason we left half way through was because of the weather. We were worried if we waited too long that they canyon would be closed. Of course we were parked many blocks away from the spectrum, so we enjoyed a wintry walk in the beautiful snow storm. It took us an hour to get home because of the road conditions.

Thanks for an exciting night babe, we might have to try it again. Maybe next time the excitement will come from the actual game.

The Day of LOVE...

Valentine's Day was a great day! It fell on a Monday so I didn't have preschool that day, so I had the whole day to myself to do the things that I love. It was a beautiful day, so Kyler and I went for a walk and decided to stop at the park and play for awhile. After we got home it was nap time for Kyler and since I didn't have a huge to do list, I decided to take a short nap too. I had planned to have a nice dinner ready for Jason and I, but Kyler decided not to cooperate so we ended up eating at separate times. Not what I had planned.

Yummy Cafe Rio Pulled Pork Salads.

After dinner and bath time we let Kyler open up his little Valentine's gifts.

Dancing along with the puppy that sings and dances.

Trying to learn how to catch a ball in a mitt.

And to end the night we watched my favorite show the "Bachelor"

SUNSHINE

Last weekend we escaped the nasty inversion for a day and headed up to Hardware Ranch to enjoy the sunshine. My dad planned a fun outing for the family and we enjoyed our Saturday by going on a sleigh ride, seeing the elk, soaking up the sunshine, eating donuts and hot chocolate, and ending the day by going out for pizza.

It's amazing what a little sunshine and getting out of the house will do for your attitude.
