February's Little Things

Most of my spare time in February was spent
PAINTING.
Every winter I have big plans for some home project and since the winter months tend to drag on it helps keep me motivated and productive. This years project was a BIG one. Our family room/kitchen needed white ceilings and a more attractive paint color. While we were at it we added some shiplap to the fireplace wall.

We were able to sneak away for a family ski day.

Kyler attended some baseball clinics and hopefully will be able to make it on a comp team this Spring.

It amazes me the amount of stuff that it requires for a 3 hour block of church. Sometimes I feel like it would be easier to pack for a vacation. On a side note, don't mind the mess behind me. That is the next home project to be done!!!

These girls LOVE one another!!!

Olivia is growing and changing so much.
She is at such a cute stage.
She is very busy and is into everything!!!
She had her 9 month old check-up during the month of February.

Jason and I snuck away for a Saturday afternoon date.
We tried out the new restaurant in town and saw
The Greatest Showman.

Kyler attended his first Blue & Gold for scouts.
He is loving everything about Scouts!!

February  was a quick month!!!
I'm excited that we are turning the corner on Winter and that my favorite time of year is just around the corner!!!

Long Weekend

Last weekend Kyler had no school on Friday or Monday and it just happened to be the same weekend that Jason's brother was moving to their new home in Eagle Mountain so we decided to do a little staycation.
Since their new home was only 20 minutes away from Thanksgiving Point we got a hotel down there and planned to do some activities around there.
We started the day at the Museum of Natural Curiosity and spent a few hours there before it got crowded and then decided to leave and go back right before closing for a little more fun.

We tried a new restaurant and about the only thing the kids liked were the cool hats.

We had a little bit of time before we were able to check into the hotel so we walked around Cabela's. The girls LOVED watching the fish in the tanks.

The kids were so excited to get checked in and go swimming.
It was Olivia's first time swimming and I think she LOVED it.

Of course I didn't take any pictures, but Saturday we helped Jake and Lauren move into their new home.
The kids LOVED being there and didn't want to leave to come home. It was a quick little getaway, but sometimes that's all that it takes to get recharged and ready to face the day to day life.

Valentine's Day

I LOVE
days that are spent at home without a lot planned.
So what better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than by spending it at home with those that
I LOVE.
I LOVE the phase that these little girls are in.
I wish that I could freeze them like this forever.

We spent the morning having a tea party (Khloe's favorite thing), and doing a little photo shoot with them.

Once Kyler got home from school we ran around some Valentine goodies to people in our life that we LOVE. We ended the day by having a low-key Valentines dinner and reading notes that we had written to one another during the month.

9 Months Old

Olivia is one month closer to turning one and even though I LOVE this stage, I'm wishing she were still a newborn!!!
Why does the time have to pass so quickly?!?

9 months in ~ 9 months out.

At 9 months old Olivia:

Weight 16 lbs. 11oz. (24th percentile)
Height 27 1/4 in. (35th percentile)
She is very mobile and can pull herself up to things and walk along holding on to things.
Loves to eat ANYTHING. She is by far our best eater.
She can play pat-a-cake, wave bye, and gives the best kisses.
She isn't the greatest sleeper and I never know if she is going to sleep through the night or wake up every couple of hours.
She still HATES the carseat and cries every time we put her in it.
She has gotten so much better at going to other people which is nice for those who watch her on days that I teach preschool.
