"Boring is Good"

The other day while visiting with a friend and talking about life I was kind of complaining about how "boring" the Winter months
can be. As a mother/wife it can be somewhat monotonous, especially when you are indoors the majority of the time.
Her comment has given me something to think about.
She said," Boring is Good."

I need to work on changing my perspective.
Our "boring" month of January included:
*Healthy Kids (knock on wood)
* Unseasonably warm weather.
*Home projects
*Plenty of ski days
*Lazy days at home with my cute kids.
*Date night to the temple
*Watching the Bachelor (who is your favorite?)

Other highlights from the month:
Attending Owl Day at the Bird Refuge.

Watching this little peanut continue to learn and grow.

Helping with my sister-in-laws baby shower.

Many trips to Lowe's trying to make decisions on our kitchen redo.

Finishing our kitchen wall and bench.
Can't wait for my new table to get here and to increase our sitting from 4 to 8.

Here's to February being another "boring" month:))

Weekend Words

Three day weekends are the greatest, especially when it is balanced with productivity and relaxation.

Friday:
Afternoon skiing for Jason and Kyler.
Rocking this sweet little girl to sleep.
(I love that she still looks like a baby and not an almost 1 year old)
Getting gas at Smith's for 0.76 cents a gallon.
Watching Dolphin Dale 2 for family movie night.

Saturday:
Kitchen renovation started.
Enjoying the beautiful weather.
Going with the entire family for pizza in the party van.

My brother-in-law works for enterprise car rental and drives home a different vehicle each day.
He happened to have a 15 passenger van over the weekend so what's more fun than loading up the entire family and going out to dinner together:))

Sunday:
Trying to keep the kids entertained for 2 hours of stake conference.
Celebrating GG's 85th birthday.

Monday:
Construction begins on my new bench in the kitchen.

10 Months

I can't believe another month has come and gone.
I'm trying to soak up every moment with this little doll.
She's going to be turning ONE before I know it:((

At 10 months old she:
Has started to actually crawl using her hands and not just doing her walrus crawl.

Has her bottom 2 teeth and is working on her top 2 I-teeth.

Has discovered her voice and loves to squeal
when brother is around.

Loves to eat people food and is starting to loose interest in baby food and bottles.

Is really attached to mommy and usually cries if I'm in the same room as her and not holding her.

Still wears mostly 6 month old clothes and size 2 shoes.

Has discovered technology and likes watching baby videos on my phone and T.V.

Love taking a bath and splashing in the water.

Continues to be the most content and easy going baby I know.

Ski Day

A week ago today we were up in the mountains enjoying beautiful blue skies, fresh air, and sunshine.

A week ago today it was Ty's first time snowboarding since returning from his mission and it was my
dad's first time skiing in 4 years.

A week ago today Annie and Kimberly were brave and
tried skiing for the 1st time.

The best thing about a week ago today was all 5 of us siblings got together and had a fun day together.

Ringing in 2015

New Year's Eve was spent just the way I like it.
Comforts of home, spending time with the ones I care about most, playing card games all while munching on yummy food.

This year as part of the celebration grandma and grandpa took the
grand kids to the new hotel in town. Kyler was so excited to go on "vacation" and loved that it only took 5 minutes to get there.

Hopefully 2015 will be full of more fun family times:))
